“I want to make memories all over the world”

I love travelling. I believe I have wheels under my heels.

I think my romance with travelling originated from the endless books I used to read as a child, which was mainly Enid Blyton, I admit. I wanted to visit the faraway places, the ones with the magical cobbled streets and quaint little shops and cafes. I wanted to visit Diagonal Alley and Platform 9 3/4. Of course, I had to see Hogwarts (thanks to Harry Potter) and study in Mallory Towers for one term at the least. Needless to say, I wanted to taste the scones, the fresh clotted creams and the ginger beer! Yes, so I am that kind of traveler, the one who lives in the romantic ideas of those magical books of yesteryear. But I can tell you, I have not been disappointed. I have had many magical experiences and my bubble has not burst yet. I did get to push my trolley on Platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross station, I did get to see the Hogwarts dining room, and I did taste some scones too! I tasted the famous Bertie Bott’s every flavoured beans too.

As I grew older, I did not grow out of my romantic dreams and fantasies. In fact it only increased when I started studying Literature, what with Byron’s famous poem “The Prisoner of Chillon”, about a prisoner who was chained for years in a castle built under Lake Leman, or the famed legend of wishes coming true if you threw in a coin at the Fontana De Trevi. And so, my romance continues…

I believe that the journey can be as exciting as the destination itself. From the moment you decide on a place, the entire planning process transforms your mood from the mundane to magical. No matter what kind of a traveller you are – adventurous, romantic, scholarly, shopoholic – your excitement begins when you start researching about the place.

This site is born out of the love for travel and visiting cultures and geographies so different from our own, and yet, at the end of the day, realising that we are not so different after all. No matter which part of the world we stay in, we are all dealing with the same emotions, fighting similar battles in different circumstances, and held together by love and the belief in a greater power.
